Caleb Mitchell
Electrical Engineering student at UC Santa Cruz (B.S. expected June 2028).
I design and build systems that sit at the intersection of hardware and firmware— custom PCBs, embedded controllers, motor drives, robotics platforms, and real-time perception loops.
My technical interests include embedded systems, PCB design, robotics, controls, communications, and power electronics. I care about designs that can be probed, measured, and iterated on a lab bench.
Engineering philosophy: build the smallest honest prototype, instrument it, test against reality, then harden the design. Schematics and state machines should be readable; bring-up should be deliberate.
Through the UCSC Rocketry Club I have worked on thrust-vector-control avionics — schematic/PCB work in KiCad, Teensy-based firmware, sensor and telemetry integration, and hardware bring-up.
